Gibson USA G-3 Pickups
At the heart of the Epiphone Mike Dirnt Grabber G-3 are its three hand-wound Gibson USA G-3 pickups, which are manufactured in the Gibson pickup store in Nashville, Tennessee. They are configured in a special "buck-and-a-half" circuit that allows for several humbucking variants. In the upper switch position, the neck and middle pickups are active, which delivers a humbucker-like sound. In the middle position, all three pickups are combined, which is ideal for balanced mids and warm rock sounds. In the lower switch position, the middle and bridge pickups work together to produce a crisp sound with an assertive Attack. This versatile circuit delivers a range of hum-free sounds, from rich vintage tones to aggressive punk rock drive. The whole thing is rounded off by master volume and tone controls that offer precise control over the overall sound.
