The Epiphone SG Custom Lefthand Ebony from the Inspired by Gibson collection presents itself as an official rock guitar for left-handers with powerful sounds and premium features. The custom version of the famous rock guitar follows the classic 1961 specifications with authentic body shaping and slim taper neck profile for authentic SG feel on the 22 fret ebony fingerboard. For steamy rock and heavy metal sounds, two Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers are used in neck and bridge positions, which easily cover vocal cleans with mid-range Alnico warmth when needed. In addition to a solid hardware equipment in the form of a LockTone Tune-o-Matic with associated Stopbar and Epiphone Deluxe tuners in a uniform gold finish, the Epiphone SG Custom Ebony Lefthand also offers visually appealing custom appointments such as additional bindings on fretboard and headstock as well as the famous 'Split Diamond' headstock inlay of the custom version.

Tradition-conscious construction

When building the SG Custom Lefthand, Epiphone naturally adheres to the classic specifications from the beginning of the sixties to achieve a warm and powerful sound. Besides the mahogany body in the official shaping with the two distinctive horns, the electric guitar has a glued mahogany neck with a high-quality ebony fingerboard. The slim slim taper neck profile with 43 mm nut width also conveys the authentic SG feeling with ideal conditions for the classic playing techniques of rock, metal and blues.

Alnico Classic PRO pickups

As pickups for the SG Custom Lefthand Ebony Epiphone chooses two in-house Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers with elegant gold caps. The powerful pickups clearly show inspiration from the legendary PAFs of the golden era and elicit lively overdrive sounds from the guitar amp, which assert themselves with rich midrange pressure in the Mix. But also soulful clean passages are no problem for the warm, airy sound character of the Alnico humbuckers. The pickup of the electric guitar is controlled classically by means of a 3-way switch and separate volume and tone controls for the bridge and neck position.

Reliable Hardware in Gold finish

Of course, Epiphone completes the SG Custom Lefthand electric guitar with reliable hardware whose uniform gold finish accentuates the elegant custom look. A classic stopbar tailpiece guides the strings over the LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, which is firmly locked on its pins and guarantees exact intonation and string position with generous adjustment options.
