The Fame BC-1 at a glance

The BC-1 from FAME is an electronic wind instrument and MIDI breath controller in a professional case. The housing has a very pleasant feel and sits comfortably in the hand when playing. It can be adjusted to a saxophone, recorder or breath controller fingering. Thanks to the sensitive air sensor in the mouthpiece, it can be played in a very dynamic and nuanced way. The mouthpiece itself plays like a recorder mouthpiece and does not require a special embouchure like a wind instrument. The BC-1 is therefore also suitable for musicians who have never played a wind instrument before. The 56 integrated sounds include classical wind instruments such as saxophone, flute, trumpet or horn, traditional wind instruments from various Asian regions and even strings, organ sounds, accordion, piano and synthesiser sounds. An additional adjustable reverb effect creates more atmosphere and spatial depth to the sounds. Some parameters can be adjusted to your own playing style via the display for better control.

The sensor buttons of the BC-1 are only touched when playing and require no force. There are no keys or keys to press. Playing is therefore very quiet. The BC-1 is suitable as a solo instrument or MIDI breath controller for a wide variety of musical styles and invites you to experiment. The built-in rechargeable battery allows you to play your own sounds for several hours via the built-in loudspeaker. This also works without additional headphones or external speakers.

As a MIDI blow converter, the BC-1 can play external MIDI sound generators via the DIN MIDI port. The USB port charges the instrument's battery. The BC-1 is factory-configured for right-handed users, but can be converted for left-handed users in just a few minutes using the accessories supplied.
