Fame Baphomet 4 III - Boutique electric bass with character & precision

The Fame Baphomet 4 III is the latest addition to the Baphomet series, offering the same high build quality as its predecessors along with brand-new electronics. Handmade in Gdansk, this model comes equipped with a Delano JC4 HE/M2 pickup set and a Delano Sonar-2 preamp. The preamp shapes the sound beautifully and provides flexible tonal adjustments via its 2-band EQ with bass and treble controls. The body, crafted from black limba, pairs with a five-piece mahogany and maple neck, giving the Baphomet 4 III both an elegant appearance and a unique grain pattern that makes each instrument one of a kind. Durable hardware ensures the bass remains reliable and playable even under intensive use, making it ideal for rehearsals, studio sessions, and touring. Additional highlights include Schaller S-Lock strap pins for absolute security and a gig bag included for safe transport.

First-class tonewoods and high playing comfort

Like its predecessors, the Baphomet 4 III features top-quality tonewoods that provide both a stunning look and excellent tonal properties. The slim black limba body is complemented by a five-piece mahogany neck with maple stringers, secured with a six-bolt construction for maximum stability. A “D” profile neck combined with a 24-fret Pau Ferro fingerboard delivers comfortable handling, while the matte finish enhances playability and provides a smooth, natural feel for even the most demanding bass lines.

At the core of the Baphomet 4 III are two Delano JC4 HE/M2 single coils, designed for warm, noise-free performance. Thanks to their split-coil humbucking construction in a traditional single-coil format, the JC4 HE/M2 pickups reduce unwanted noise while maintaining the transparent, characterful sound of the Baphomet. The result is a crystal-clear, precise attack, assertive mids, tight bass response, and well-defined highs. Combined with the active Delano Sonar-2 preamp, this setup delivers a versatile tonal palette that can move seamlessly from vintage warmth to modern punch.
