The Fame Baphomet 4 III adds a new model to the Baphomet series, delivering the high build quality expected from this boutique line and introducing upgraded electronics. Handcrafted in Gdansk, the Baphomet III features a Delano JC4 HE/M2 pickup set along with a Delano Sonar-2 preamp. This combination shapes the tone beautifully, offering wide-ranging tonal control through its intuitive 2-band EQ with bass and treble knobs. The ash body and five-piece mahogany/maple neck not only contribute to the instrument’s rich tone but also ensure that each bass is visually unique, thanks to the distinctive natural grain of the woods. Rugged hardware ensures lasting reliability, making the Baphomet III perfectly suited for the rehearsal room, the studio, or life on the road. It also comes equipped with Schaller S-Lock strap pins for secure handling and includes a gig bag for safe transport.
As with its predecessors, the Baphomet 4 III is built with top-tier tonewoods that enhance both its appearance and tonal characteristics. The slim ash body features a matte natural finish that highlights the unique grain of each instrument. A five-piece mahogany neck with maple veneers is joined to the body via a six-bolt construction, delivering stability and strength. The comfortable D-profile neck, paired with a 24-fret Pau Ferro fingerboard, offers a smooth and fast playing experience. The matte neck finish further enhances playability, ensuring a fluid and natural feel even during demanding performances.
At the core of the Baphomet 4 III are two Delano JC4 HE/M2 single coil pickups, which produce a rich, articulate tone with a warm response. These pickups are designed in a split-coil humbucker layout to minimize noise while maintaining a clear and transparent sound. This results in a punchy attack, focused mids, tight low end, and sparkling highs. Paired with the active Delano Sonar-2 preamp, the bass offers a wide sonic range that effortlessly transitions between vintage warmth and modern clarity. The preamp allows for precise tone shaping, making the Baphomet 4 III a true chameleon in any genre.
The Baphomet 4 III is outfitted with durable hardware built for everyday gigging and long-term use. It features a single-rail bridge for accurate intonation and stable string height, while WSC JB15 tuners provide dependable tuning stability. Schaller S-Lock strap buttons offer rock-solid strap security, making this bass ready for intense rehearsal sessions or energetic live performances without compromise.
