Fame Baphomet 5 III – Natural ash meets boutique craftsmanship from Gdańsk
The Fame Baphomet 5 III Natural Ash adds a new model to the Baphomet series, which not only boasts the usual high build quality but has also been fitted with brand-new electronics: Firstly, the Baphomet III basses, handcrafted in Gdańsk, come with the Delano JC5 HE/M2 pickup set – and, secondly, a Delano Sonar-2 preamp has been fitted, which beautifully shapes the sound and, thanks to its 2-band EQ with bass and treble controls, allows for individual sound adjustments. The ash body and the five-piece mahogany/maple neck also give the Baphomet 5 III a great look, whilst the grain of the tonewoods is completely unique to each individual instrument, making every one a genuine collector’s item. Complemented by indestructible hardware, the Baphomet III remains robust and reliable even after the most intensive use, making the instrument ideally suited for any rehearsal room or studio session, as well as for everyday life on tour. On top of that, the Baphomet 5 III comes with further highlights such as Schaller S-Lock strap pins for a rock-solid hold, as well as a gig bag included in the package for safe transport!
The Fame Baphomet III is handcrafted in Gdańsk and impresses with its excellent playability and versatile sounds.
The five-piece neck of the Fame Baphomet III is bolted to the arched body in six places and offers a robust feel.
Top-quality tonewoods and exceptional playing comfort
Like its predecessor, the Baphomet 5 III features high-quality tonewoods, which not only provide the foundation for a great look but, thanks to the matt Natural Ash finish, skilfully showcase each instrument’s unique wood grain. The slim ash body is complemented by a five-piece mahogany neck with maple inlays, which ensures robust handling thanks to the six-bolt neck construction. The ‘D’ neck profile, combined with the 24-fret Pau Ferro fingerboard, offers superb playability – the matt neck finish further enhances the instrument’s high level of playing comfort, guaranteeing a smooth feel for even the most demanding bass lines.
The Delano JC5 HE/M2 pickups and the Sonar-2 preamp with 2-band EQ guarantee a versatile sound spectrum.
Delano JC5 HE/M2 Pickups and Sonar-2 Preamp
At the heart of the new Baphomet 5 III electric basses are two Delano JC5 HE/M2 single-coil pickups, which deliver a magnificent sound with a warm response. The JC5 HE/M2 pickups (‘HE’ = Hum-free Enhanced) are designed, thanks to their split-coil humbucker construction in a classic single-coil format, to produce the lowest possible noise whilst still fully conveying the Baphomet’s fundamental character through a transparent tone. The result: a crystal-clear and precise attack, along with assertive mids, tight, well-defined bass and clearly articulated treble. Combined with the active Delano Sonar-2 preamp, this creates a versatile tonal character that moves effortlessly between vintage timbreand modern directness.
The Fame Baphomet 5 III features a five-piece mahogany-maple neck and a body made from richly grained ash.
Five encapsulated WSC JB15 tuning machines on the distinctive headstock of the Fame Baphomet III guarantee precise tuning.
Robust hardware for long-lasting use
Complemented by reliably robust hardware, the instrument is designed for long-lasting use. Specifically, a single-rail bridge has been fitted to ensure precise intonation and stable string action, whilst the WSC JB15 bass tuners guarantee reliable tuning. What’s more, the Schaller S-Lock strap buttons provide additional security for your strap, keeping it firmly attached to the instrument – so you can confidently tackle wild rehearsal room sessions or high-energy stage performances, whilst the Baphomet 5 III stays securely in place!
