Highlights include the roasted maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and 21 stainless steel frets, while two Fame single coils in combination with the active preampincluding 3-band EQ provide plenty of tonal possibilities. Those who prefer the untouched basic sound of the instrument can also enjoy the Gravitas in passive mode thanks to the active/passive mini-switch. Under the hood, the body is made of mahogany/alder with a high-gloss finish: The Gravitas basses come in exotic colors between sunburst and paisley over-color variants as well as in various aged looks. The bolt-on neck made from heat-treated maple is extremely comfortable to hold thanks to its modern "C" profile and is optimally designed for fast, dynamic playing. The oiled neck surface of the roasted maple neck provides additional comfort, giving a smooth playing feel even during long sessions. The rosewood fingerboard with 21 stainless steel jumbo frets, classic Block-Inlays and a radius of 13.75" allows both precise bass lines in the lower registers and effortless riffs in the upper registers. With a long-scale scale length of 34", the Gravitas offers the ideal string tension for a tight response.
The two Fame single coils deliver a crisp response, while the sound can be flexibly shaped in active mode thanks to the 3-band EQ.

The sound of the Fame Gravitas also impresses with a modern interpretation of the vintage J-style sound. Two Fame single coils in the middle and bridge position deliver the typical punch, complemented by defined highs and a clear attack. The pickups can be specifically adjusted via volume, balance and 3-band EQ controls (bass, mids, treble), so that everything from classic J-style sounds to assertive rock and funk timbres is possible. A mini-switch can be used to switch between active and passive mode - in passive mode, a tone control is available to trim the treble if required. or crisp slap sounds, rich low-frequency foundations or transparent bass lines: the Gravitas covers a wide stylistic range and always remains assertive.
