Fame Doppelpedal DFP-ONE Direct Drive

I decided to take a gamble and opted for the fame direct drive over the pearl chain drive double bass pedals.
The full metal finish is excellent, the pedal feel and instant recovery is exactly what I expected. Size of the pedal is like a longboard and perfect for me. The overall quality is excellent, some machining isn't perfect but these can't be compared to the likes of trick pedals. everything is customizable and can be adjusted. You get spare felt beater tips, 2 spare springs , extra rubber grips for the pedal clamps and the tools needed to make any adjustments. I'm not overly impressed with the beaters but I am guessing that there lightweight heads are to help with speed. They will require a period of adjustment from my mapex p600 pedals. They look impressive and feel super smooth.
I would recommend them if your on a budget and want to try the direct drive.

Just had this pedal delivered and found the settings are usable straight from the box.
However, the pedal needed some extra washers putting in next to the spacers on the direct drive system as these had an excessive amount of play in them, the slave beater assembly also is a bit loose and rattles a little, there is no way to tighten this part up, the pedal is quite loud when in motion because of this.
That being said it is a fast pedal and if you're just starting out with direct drive pedals or need a spare for a back up this may be good for you.
The pedal beater angle and footboard can be adjusted independently although it is very stiff to do.
One very annoying thing and I think this needs to be addressed, dv247 say you can use the slave as a single pedal, well you can but it means disassembling the pedal clamp on the main pedal as they don't send a spare one for the slave. To me, this is very poor.
So to sum up, you get a pedal that is usable, quick and looks good, but it's not put together all that well and my example needed some extra washers putting on it to make it stable.
I'm not convinced this will last more than 3 or 4 years though I think most people will sell it on and upgrade before they reach that time anyway.
