The Fame FBP Drum Series comprises of a diverse range of high-quality and professional drums, at never before seen low prices. Drum shells in various sizes and colours are available as well as preconfigured sets with a savings-factor that can't be ignored.
All-rounder for practice room, stage and studio
The shells of the FBP Series drums are constructed from South Chinese birch, a wood that is considerably harder and denser than European species. Characteristically of birch, these shells produce a balanced frequency mix with concise mids, strong lows and moderate highs. The result is an enormously powerful, heavy and defined sound with a pronounced attack and relatively fast die- away. Drum sets made from birch are not only suited for the practice room or stage, but also for studio recordings and are the favorites of many sound engineers.
Heads, Hoops & Co.
The heads of the FBP drums come from the house of Remo, they are suspended by triple flanged steel hoops. The craftsmanship quality of these components is excellent and unmatched in this price class.

Fame FBP Snare 14"x6,5", #Matt BlackI got this snare drum as part of the FBP Studio shell pack. I absolutely love the rest of the kit, but this snare leaves a lot to be desired. Built quality is fantastic. 6.5mm birch shell (dont pay attention to the description, it is NOT 12mm), a fantastic snare throw, and all hardware is rubber underlayed, including the vent. My very expensive snare from one of those fancy California custom shops doesnt even have the rubber grommet on the vent! The snare throw doesnt have variable settings, just on or off (adjust that to tension of course), but no intermittent settings, but at this price, thats excusable, So the build quality is pretty good, and the finish looks nice too.
Now onto the sound. This is a BIG drum. As such, it has a big sound. And a very deep tone. Cranking the head down wont help much. The drum really wanted to be a tom. It was everything I could do to get the snares to come into play, and Im very experienced with tuning drums. I dont feel that the sound I was able to get from it has much place in any modern music. 80s hair metal maybe. There is a 5.5 inch version that might be a better option, and its cheaper. I havent heard it personally, but it is likely the better choice if you are trying to pick out a stand alone snare. If you are getting it as part of a shell pack, Im afraid youll just have to take it. The money you are saving by buying fame would be well spent on a high quality snare anyway.
