In short, this is a fantastic snare. Very well built, looks awesome and most importantly it sounds awesome. All it needs is a simple 1 ply head like Ambassador and with high tuning you don't even need to dampen it because the die-cast hoops reduce the amount of ring very nicely. I also like the snare throw-off mechanism very much. It's simply incredible what you get for this money. I'll buy more Fame snares.
