B20 cymbals have the highest bronze content found in cymbals on the market. B20 refers to a metal alloy made up of 80% copper and 20% tin. Handmade B20 cymbals represent the highest level of craftsmanship in cymbal forging, and most professional-grade cymbals are made from this alloy. The forging process begins with a heated metal blank, which is shaped into its familiar form through a combination of rolling, hammering, and more rolling. The bell (top of the cymbal) is typically stamped by machine. After that, the real artistry begins: each cymbal is individually hand-hammered, giving it its unique surface pattern and acoustic profile. No two cymbals are exactly alike—each one is a unique instrument.
