Fame P-Bass Body Alder Black

I already built 2 jazz basses, including manufacturing the bodies from scratch. If I ever want to build another one, I will simply buy another fame body.
The body is a two pieces part, smooth, without any visual defect. It could be used for a sunburst or natural finish.
As already explained in another comment, sand it twice with 240 sanding paper. Make sure to wet and let dry the body before sanding, this will raise the small defects of the wood and help having a perfectly smooth body.

To be compared with my Fender Mexican JB from 2006 which was made out of 7 parts (!!!) covered with a veneer on both sides before applying the sunburst finish.
