Ash body & flat sawn maple neck

The basic recipe of the fifties-style Stratocaster includes a two-piece ash body and a maple neck. The neck is made in one piece and features the famous walnut 'skunk stripe' on the back and a fingerboard radius that rises from 7.25 to 9.5 inches, combining the best aspects of traditional and modern Strat models. In combination with the distinctive '54 Soft-V profile , it provides a tried-and-tested feel for the fretting hand that is guaranteed to make the hearts of die-hard Strat fans beat faster.

Hand-wound '55 Strat single coils

In order to remain true to the sound of the mid-fifties, the Fender Custom store relies on three hand-wound '55 single coils for the pickup equipment of the Fender '56 Stratocaster Journeyman Aged Black . The construction of the three single coils is based on historically correct components and techniques to skillfully cover the typical spectrum of the Stratocaster. The '54 - '58 Strat Wiring , which is also designed according to a tried and tested recipe, allows hum-free sounds to be elicited in the intermediate positions 2 and 4, as the center pickup is reversed and wound.
