The Fender '58 Strat Relic MN Faded Aged Candy Apple Red combines authentic vintage specs with subtle modernization as part of the Custom Shop Time Machine series to create a flexible all-round guitar for almost any genre between funk, Blues and rock. Following the specifications of the last Strat vintage without rosewood fingerboard, the electric guitar features an alder body in classic design naturally a one-piece maple neck, which promises excellent playing characteristics with the "1954 Soft V" profile and 9.5" fingerboard radius. Traditional construction and first-class handling
To get as close as possible to the sound and feel of a 1958 Stratocaster, the FenderCustom store naturally relies on historically accurate tonewoods and manufacturing methods. Under the thin nitrocellulose finish, which does not affect the resonance of the classic bolt-on construction, a two-piece alder body is used, which fits comfortably and stably to the body due to the "Contour Body" design. With the "1954 Soft V" profile and the modern 9.5" fingerboard radius, the one-piece neck made of particularly stable quartersawn maple offers the best conditions for implementing classic and modern playing techniques.

Flexible sounds with vintage character
For pickups on the '58 Strat Relic, the luthiers at FenderCustom Shop choose three hand-wound Fat '50s single coils. Made to traditional specifications with Formvar wire and hand-ground Alnico V-pole pieces, the single-coils elicit powerful vintage tones from the guitar amp that are ideally suited for tradition-conscious clean and overdrive sounds thanks to a full bass foundation and a brilliant but never harsh treble spectrum. Here, the reverse-wound and polarized RWRP midrange pickup reliably prevents unwanted hum in the intermediate positions of the 5-way switch. In addition to the master volume control and a separate tone control for the bridge pick up, the electric guitar has a common tone pot for the neck and middle pickups, so that the sound can be precisely adjusted in all positions of the pickup switch.
In addition to the Custom Shop badge, the headstock of the '58 Relic Strat bears six tuning-stable vintage-style tuners.
