Authentic replica of a Stratocaster from 1964
With the Fender '64 Strat Journeyman Relic RW Faded Aged Daphne Blue #CZ562776, the FenderCustom store presents a faithful replica of a Strat from that vintage that brought significant changes to Leo Fender's successful design. Along with the historically authenticated specs of the transitional year and a loving Relic finish that recreates the playing marks of a well-kept vintage guitar, Strat features subtle modernizations that accommodate modern playing habits. While the alder "Contour Body" promises familiar handling, the Quartersawn Maple neck fits ideally in the hand thanks to a "1963 C" profile and 9.5" fingerboard radius. Hand-wound Fat '64 single coils from Custom Shop production and a customized circuit with its own tone control for the bridge pickup also promise first-class vintage sounds for funk, Blues and rock. Last but not least, the FenderCustom Shop completes the '64 Strat Journeyman Relic RW Faded Aged Daphne Blue with authentic vintage-style Hardware.
The Fender '64 Strat Journeyman Relic RW Faded Aged Daphne Blue impresses with authentic vintage looks, comfortable playing characteristics and first-class sounds.
The comfortable "1963 C" neck made of maple with standing annual rings is bolted to the alder body via an engraved Custom Shop neck plate.
Traditional manufacturing and comfortable handling
In the construction of the '64 Strat Journeyman Relic, the Luthiers at FenderCustom Shop combine traditional manufacturing methods and historically accurate woods with playing characteristics adapted to modern habits. While the body made of carefully selected alder wood hugs the body comfortably thanks to the classic "Contour Body" shape, the pleasantly strong "1963 C" profile fits comfortably in the hand and supports adept playing techniques and wide bends with the modern 9.5" fingerboard radius (241 mm). The rosewood fingerboard is also glued to the radius provided by the Quartersawn Maple neck using the correct "Round Laminated" method.
Hand-wound Fender Fat '64 single coils promise top-notch blues, funk and rock sounds in the style of the sixties.
Flexible Vintage sound
The electrical sound transformation of the '64 Journeyman Relic Strat is handled by three Fender Fat '64 single coils. Hand-wound in the Custom store, the single coils elicit authentic vintage tones from the guitar amp, with signature spank and bell-like clarity suitable not only for Blues and rock, but also for the explosive rhythms of funk. Reverse-wound to the neck and bridge pickups, the RWRP midrange pickup provides side-noise-free performance even at high gain settings in the popular "In Between" positions. In addition to the master volume for signal strength, the electric guitar has two tone pots, one of which is exclusively reserved for the bridge pickup.
In addition to the Fender Custom Shop logo, the headstock of the '64 Strat Journeyman bears vintage-style tuners for accurate and stable tuning.
High quality Vintage-Style hardware
