The Fender 1950 Pine Esquire NOS AgedBlack #R131529 at a glance:
With the Fender Custom Shop Esquire, a true icon of guitar history returns to the stage. This exclusive model captures the spirit of the earliest Esquire guitars, which later evolved into the Telecaster, and has been handcrafted with the utmost care by the Fender Custom Shop. Whether as a collector’s piece or a trusted companion in the studio and on stage, the Esquire delivers a raw, unfiltered tone. Its single bridge pickup produces the unmistakable twang of the original early 1950s models. Built with carefully selected tonewoods and finished in a detailed aged black lacquer, the 1950 Pine Esquire evokes the look and feel of Fender’s first solid-body electric guitars. Naturally, the instrument comes complete with a matching case and certificate of authenticity.
The Fender 1950 Pine Esquire conveys a classy look with its aged black finish, while the great sound remains in the ears of every vintage purist!
Lightweight pine body and bolt-on riftswan maple neck with aged treatment.
High-quality pine body and riftsawn maple neck
The lightweight pine body is paired with a riftsawn maple neck, true to the original design of the early Esquire models, which featured no separate fingerboard. With its 1950 Blackguard neck profile and 21 medium vintage frets, this electric guitar offers smooth playability and, above all, an authentic vintage feel. The compound radius of 7.25 to 9.5 inches provides ideal playability for both traditionalists and modern players. Near the nut, the 7.25-inch radius delivers the curved, familiar feel of 1950s-era Fenders. As you move up the neck, the radius gradually flattens to 9.5 inches, making it easier to play clean leads and articulate riffs in the upper registers.
The Hand-Wound Custom Shop 50-51 Blackguard Single Coil delivers the legendary Esquire sound!
Hand-Wound Custom Shop 50-51 Blackguard Single Coil
At the heart of the instrument is a single hand-wound Custom Shop 50-51 Blackguard single-coil pickup in the bridge position. It delivers the signature Esquire twang: snappy, present, and full of unmistakable midrange bite. Despite its single-pickup design, the classic three-way switch with custom wiring provides impressive tonal versatility. From raw, unfiltered tone to darker voicings and punchy vintage crunch, the Pine Esquire covers a wide sonic range. Authentic hardware completes the package, including a traditional 1950 Esquire bridge that houses the pickup, along with six tuning-stable Fender tuners featuring the classic "F" logo.
