With the 1952 Fender Telecaster NOS MoTo Top Wild Cherry Burst, Fender Custom Shop masterbuilder Dennis Galuszka presents a very special interpretation of the legendary Telecaster, which takes up many design elements of the iconic department store guitars of the wild 1960s and 1970s and transfers them to a masterful electric guitar. The ash body has a striking top made of pearloid, from which the inlays of the screwed maple neck are also made. The tone conversion of the electric guitar is done by a versatile combination of Curtis Novak Gold Foil pickup on the neck and hand-wound Fender 51 Nocaster Single Coil on the bridge.
The striking Pearloid top on the body, made of particularly light ash, immediately catches the eye, which gives the Fender 1952 Moto Tele its smart retro look. Affectionately called the "Mother of Toilet Seat" (MoTo), the shimmering surface of the plastic, developed as a mother-of-pearl replacement, clearly recalls the legendary department store guitars of the 1960s and 1970s, which are sought-after collector's items today due to their appearance and sound. The screwed, one-piece neck made of maple with standing annual rings carries matching pearloid dots in its fretboard and proudly presents the Fender Custom Shop logo in its twelfth fret. At the same time, with its strong "52 Style U"-profile, it offers a handy playability. As befits a masterbuilt electric guitar, the combination of carefully selected and lovingly crafted woods promises a sublime basic sound with open tone development and the typical Tele-Twang, which becomes one with the guitarist and brings every note to life.
With the neck pickup Dennis Galuszka is also oriented towards retro guitars and gives the Fender 1952 Moto Tele a Gold Foil pickup from Curtis Novak, which looks back on over 30 years of experience in restoring guitars and winding custom pickups. Accordingly, the Goldfoil Single Coil, whose design is based on a DeArmond design, convinces with an almost magical tone that captivates even the most experienced guitarist. With a sweet midrange, extremely clear highs and a low but not overemphasized low end, this pickup brings every note to life and convinces both at the clean and the tugging amplifier with a casual tone development. Its counterpart is the hand-wound Fender 51 Nocaster Single Coil on the bridge, which is equipped with Alnico 3 magnets and thus delivers the typical Tele-Twang, but has a rounder response thanks to the emphatically warm middle range. Both pickups are managed by a 3-way blade switch and general volume and tone controls.
