Traditional construction

Under the artificially aged nitrocellulose lacquer of the Fender Custom Shop 1959 Relic Precision Bass hides a traditionally built electric bass. For example, the body is joined from two parts of particularly light alder, while the maple neck is fastened with the screw connection established by Leo Fender at the beginning of the 1950s. With its strong "Oval C" profile, the neck offers a pleasant grip even with a powerful playing style, so that between the 20 frets of the rosewood fingerboard, any groove can be easily played.

Fender 1959 Relic Precision: Split Coil or Single Coil

The 1959 Relic Precision Fender Custom Shop is factory-fitted with a split coil pickup that delivers the legendary preci sound to the bass of the amplifier. With full basses, the characteristic growl in the low ranges and transparent highs, he lays the foundation for classical rock, funk and blues bands, while the lively dynamics enable expressive electric bass playing. Also included is a Fender custom shop single coil pickup as it was originally used between 1951 and 1957. With it, the electric bass delivers a more brilliant sound with natural compression, which contributes an independent, character-strong timbre.

Authentic Vintage Style Hardware

Hardware in authentic Vintage styling completes the Fender 1959 Relic Precision Bass. The body is fitted with the traditional Fender bass bridge, whose base plate is made of angled sheet steel and has four separately adjustable string tabs. From the bridge, the strings are guided with the classic Longscale 34" (864 mm) scale towards the headstock, where they run over the bone saddle to the proven Fender Vintage machine heads.
