The original design of the instrument is based on a two-piece alder body with traditional dimensions and a bolt-on maple neck made of Quarter Sawn Maple, whose oval C-profile, in contrast to the strong necks of the 1950s, appropriately represents the slimmer design of their era. Also typical of the Early Sixties manufacturing is the Round-Lam fretboard made of rosewood, which closes the neck from above and thus dispenses with the Skunk Stripe made of walnut.
