Representing the last year of the famed 'Pre-CBS' era, this Stratocaster combines the best features of the era and relies on hand-wound Custom Shop '64 single coils with reverse-poled and wound mid-pickup for hum-free mid positions. Additionally, a Greasebucket Tone Circuit is used for coherent roll-offs of the Tone knob and the Vintage Modified #2 Wiring is used, which provides a separate tone control for the bridge pickup. Of course, the 1964 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Aged Aztec Gold relies on a superb tonewood selection in the form of hand-selected ash for the body and an extremely sturdy and resonant Quarter Sawn Maple neck with bold flame.
