Accordingly, the thin nitrocellulose finish conceals a body made of light alder, while the screwed neck is made of curly maple and with the "10/56 V" profile offers the best conditions for a high playing comfort. Three hand-wound Fender Custom Shop Tomatillo Single Coil Picukps in combination with "½ Blender"-Wiring deliver a broad spectrum of first-class vintage sounds. Of course, the Fender Tomatillo Strat is also equipped with the proven American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo and precise Vintage Style tuners.
For the construction of the Fender 2018 Journeyman Relic Tomatillo Strat, the Fender Custom Shop uses a selection of carefully matched woods. The body is made of selected light alder, while the neck and fretboard are made of curly maple with standing annual rings. The thin nitrocellulose finish allows the wood to breathe freely and vibrate, guaranteeing a lively tone. The combination of the "10/56 V" neck profile, jumbo frets and a saddle width of 42.8 mm also creates optimum conditions for first-class playability.
The electric tone conversion of the Fender Journeyman Relic Tomatillo Strat is performed by three hand-wound Fender Custom Shop Tomatillo Single Coil Pickups, whose sound was specially tuned to the guitar. Accordingly, the Alnico II Single Coils convince with a particularly clear, bell-like vintage tone that captures every nuance of the game in fine detail. The "½ Blender"-Wiring offers increased tonal flexibility: In position 1 and position 2 of the 5-way blade switch, the neck pickup can be continuously added via the second tone control, so that the otherwise impossible combination of bridge and neck pickup and all three pickups can be called up.
Last but not least, the Fender 2018 Limited Journeyman Relic Tomatillo Strat features traditional hardware in a stylish and reliable vintage style. With the help of the Fender American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo, chords and melodies can be adorned with dazzling pitch modulations, while classic Fender Vintage Style tuners guarantee a stable and precise tuning.
