With the Fender 2018 Reverse Custom HS Tele Aged Daphne Blue over 3-Color Sunburst, the Fender Custom Shop presents a vintage-style telecaster that combines an authentic color-over-color relic look with outstanding sound characteristics. Accordingly, Fender uses thermally treated woods in the form of alder and maple for the body and neck, while rosewood is used for the fretboard. The electrical sound conversion is done by a Fender Custom Shop Blackguard Tele Single Coil with inverted installation angle at the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbucker at the neck, which together promise a broad sound spectrum between blues, country and rock. Last but not least, the Fender 2018 Limited Reverse Custom HS Telecaster is equipped with the traditional 3-saddle string through body bridge and precise Fender vintage style tuners.

The Fender Reverse Custom Telecaster has a body made of Roasted Alder and a screwed neck made of Roasted Maple.

Thermally treated wood

For the construction of the Fender 2018 Reverse Custom HS Telecaster, the Fender Custom Shop uses thermally treated wood in the form of Roasted Alder for the body and Roasted Maple for the neck. By baking in a vacuum, these woods are characterized by a low residual moisture, which not only makes them insensitive to climatic fluctuations, but also promotes a resonant and lively sound character. In addition, the strong but comfortable "Large C" neck profile and the 9.5-inch fretboard radius ensure optimum playability via the "Slab Board" rosewood fingerboard.

A Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbucker on the neck and a Fender Blacktop Tele Single Coil with inverted mounting angle deliver versatile sounds between blues and rock.

Fender Single Coil meets Seymour Duncan Humbucker

The electric tone conversion of the Fender 2018 Reverse Custom HS Telecaster is done by a pickup team from Fender and Seymour Duncan. Accordingly, a Fender Custom Shop Blackguard Tele Single Coil is located at the bridge, which impresses with its inverted installation angle, streamlined bass range and warm high-frequency reproduction. On the neck, on the other hand, a Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbucker delivers an authentic'50s feeling with warm, clearly articulated mids and a sweet spectrum of highs. A stereo volume potentiometer with 500 kOhm for the humbucker and 250 kOhm for the single coil, as well as a classic treble diaphragm are available for optimum pickup tuning.
