The Fender 2020 Limited Edition '65 Princeton Reverb Chilewich Denim features a cover by the American design company Chilewich and proves to be a real treat not only in terms of sound but also visually. Based on the legendary studio secret weapon from 1965, the compact all valve combo convinces with first-class clean and drive sounds and a distinct vintage attitude. Equipped with three 12AX7 valves in the single-channel preamp, this guitar amp delivers a lively sound image that reacts dynamically to the player and can be boosted from crystal-clear clean to a harmonically bursting overdrive through dynamic playing and using the guitar's Volume control. In addition, the typical Fender effects reverb and tremolo are included. The 12 Watt power amp using two 6V6 tubes powers a 12" Celestion Blue Alnico speaker, whose warm tone and natural compression is perfectly matched to the sound of the Fender Limited Edition '65 Princeton Reverb Chilewich.
The classical Blacface era tone can be achieved without disturbing neighbours by this low power amp.
I also buy the big brother Deluxe Reverb, which has more headroom but heavier and bigger for carrying. This little Princeton has every good feature that I love in Deluxe Reverb and also have some advantegous for my point of view, such as no extra second similar channel, low power to easy break up, low weight and volume and also I love the 10 inch speaker very much.
For gigs with noisy drummers, Deluxe Reverb and also Vibrolux can be choosen. But for the home or recording players, Princeton is the best amp with its price and mobility.
Although, this is a Blackface amp and priority is clean tone, the power tube break up tone is also impressive. Also, the amp compromises well with overdrive pedals.
