The American Special Stratocaster RW 2-Tone Sunburst captures the timeless Fender style and building quality at an appetising price point. An eye-catching oversized 1970s style headstock adds to the distinction and the finish dazzles with its Gloss Urethane sheen. A 22 Jumbo Fret slim Satin-Back Maple neck provides for effortless slides, perfectly complimenting the Rosewood Modern 9.5”-Radius Fretboard. The tone of this guitar can be manipulated via the three Overwound Texas Special Single-Coil Strat pickups and the Greasebucket Tone Circuitry, specially designed for reducing treble without adding lows.
The Special Stratocaster is light-weight, glossy and vintage in style (excepting the truss-rod, which has a modern, headstock end adjustment) – correct in every detail, down to the classic vibrato bridge. American Special with the texas special pickups. I love the very smooth neck and my favorite is the jumbo frets which make it so easy to play and bend. Just about everything a man could ask for in a guitar. Such a huge step ahead of Mexican/other fender imports. highly recommend you go American. Special is the entry. It's discontinued now but you can still find them. thank you fender for a great guitar.
