The American Vintage II 1963 Telecaster RW Vintage Blonde features the revised design of the classic Telecaster, as originally introduced in 1963. New tonewood combinations and improved construction methods have created a new, distinctive Tele sound, which has achieved cult status on numerous blues, rock and country recordings. Built to historical specifications, this instrument from the American Vintage II collection is manufactured at the Fender Corona facility in California and, of course, comes complete with a case and certificate.

Ash body

In contrast to the ash body of the 1950s Tele, the Telecaster models of the early 1960s utilised ash, amongst other woods, for the body . This tonewood is still regarded today as the most widely used classic among Fender tonewoods and is prized for its unique tonal qualities. The body is finished with a three-ply pickguard and a tasteful Vintage Blonde nitrocellulose finish.

Pure Vintage '63 Single Coils

The two Pure Vintage ’63 single-coil pickups on the Fender American Vintage II Telecaster are also modelled on the original components of the inspiration and produce the classically versatile tone of the ’60s Tele. Played in the bridge position, this results in a wiry sound with just the right amount of twang and growl, whilst the neck position contributes its vocal character. A three-position switch is provided for selecting the pickups, allowing both to be selected either individually or together.

3-Saddle Tele Bridge with steel saddles

The hardware also received some welcome upgrades in the early sixties. With the Fender Pure Vintage Tele Bridge, the three classic brass saddles were replaced by robust and resonant steel saddles, which both improve resonance transfer and allow each string to be positioned more precisely on its saddle. On the headstock, meanwhile , ‘Fender Deluxe’ tuners ensure stable tunings and the classic Tele look.
