With the Fender Custom Shop '63 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic RW Aged Olympic White, Fender presents an authentic Custom Shop reissue of the most famous bass of the early sixties in the Time Machine Series. Here, a hand-wound split coil pickup, high-quality tonewoods and the best components are used to come as close as possible to the specifications of the year 1963. Includes hardshell case and certificate of authenticity!
The Journeyman Relic finish gives the Fender Custom Shop '63 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic RW in Aged Olympic White a dialed-in quality and feel like a true vintage instrument.
Fender's classic bolt-on construction gives the neck extra stability.
Composition and Journeyman finish
The specifications for the construction of the Precision Basses haven't changed too much since it was conceived by Leo Fender, which is why this Custom Shop version also relies on tried-and-true tonewoods and a sturdy finish. Thus, the Quarter Sawn Mapleneck is bolted into the alder body of the P-Bass and delivers comfortable and familiar Fender playing characteristics due to the '60 Precision Bass Oval-'C' neck profile with overlying rosewood fingerboard. Furthermore, the Journeyman finish from the Time Machine series of the FenderCustom store provides aging marks that visually emphasize the Vintage-Sound.
Noble chrome caps provide comfortable playing characteristics.
Hand wound '62 Split coil with classic wiring
Following the traditional P-Bass design, the FenderCustom Shop '63 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic RW Aged Olympic White features a hand-wound'62 Precision BassSplit coil pickup that provides that classic preci growl and conjures up warm vintage tones. Wiring also stays true to the classic design and is made up of a volume knob and an additional tone shutter. For the ultimate vintage appeal, the P-Bass is also equipped with both a chrome cover for the bridge and the pickup.
