The Fender Hammertone Breakup Drive is an overdrive pedal designed to capture the sweet spot between clean and crunchy tones. Using JFET transistors and two selectable clipping modes, it delivers warm, responsive saturation that works equally well as a subtle, always-on drive or as a more pronounced overdrive. The pedal emulates the behavior of hot-running tube amps, responding dynamically to your playing. Its tone control lets you shape the frequency spectrum, while a switchable mid-boost before the gain stage adds 9 dB of presence for solos or classic nasal overdrive sounds. For even more headroom, the pedal can be run at 18V instead of 9V, providing anadditional 6 dB without losing punch.
