For the construction of the Fender 1959 Heavy Relic Strat the Fender Custom Shop relies on the original wood combination for this model. Accordingly, carefully selected light ash is used for the body, while the screwed, one-piece neck is made of maple with standing annual rings (quartersawn Maple ). Accordingly, the electric guitar has a particularly lively basic sound with fast response and balanced frequency response. When playing electric guitar, the "Mid 60s Style C" Oval profile of the neck also offers a comfortable basis for classical and modern playing techniques.

Fatty Strat sound thanks to hand-wound Single coils

The electrical sound conversion of the Fender Limited Edition 1959 Heavy Relic Stratocaster MN Olive Drab is performed by three hand-wound Fender Custom Shop Fat 60s Single coils, which deliver fat Vintage Strat sounds at the amplifier. With their bell-like response in the highs, warm mids and tight basses, the three pickups offer the perfect basis for rousing melodies, bluesy licks and classic Rock riffs in both the Clean - and the Overdrive -channel. Here the pickups react with lively dynamics to the smallest details, so that nothing stands in the way of an expressive tone shaping. In addition, the classic Strat circuitry with 5-way blade switch, one volume control and two tone controls can be used to call up a wide range of different tones.

Vintage style Hardware

For the rest of the Fender 1959 Heavy Relic Strat equipment, the Custom Shop relies on in-house Hardware in Vintage style. The strings are held on the body by the American Vintage Synchronized Fender Tremolo , which allows the decoration of chords and melodies with gently shimmering pitch modulations and convinces with its smooth handling. From there the strings run with 25.5" scale length (648 mm) in the direction of the headstock, where they are led over the bone saddle in the direction of the Vintage style Fender tuners. These convince not only with a high precision, but also with high tuning stability.
