Construction and Composition
Not much has changed about the Fender Precision Bass as it is known today since the 1957 vintage, and thus the VintageCustom '57 Precision Bass MN Wide-Fade 2-Color Sunburst with 34" long scale and bolt-on construction of Quarter Sawn Maple neck and alder body offers a distinctive playing feel. A particular highlight is the accurate neck, which sits low in the hand in a 1957 Soft 'V' profile and shines in a nitrocellulose finish with 20 Jescar Medium Vintage frets and a 7.25" fingerboard radius.
The split-coil P-Bass pickups hides under a tasteful chrome cap.
Handwound Split-Coil Pickup
The 1957 P-Bass vintage not only marked the beginning of the Great Headstock but also the first introduction of the mid-position split-coil humbucker, which is one of Precision's key features. The hand-wound '57 Custom Shop split coil here delivers warm Vintage sounds with plenty of punch and rich lows, which can be adjusted with a Volume and Tone control.
Sturdy Fender Vintage tuners ensure accurate tunings.
Hardware Features
The VintageCustom '57 Precision Bass MN Wide-Fade 2-Colour Sunburst is rounded out by its Hardware features, which include two chrome covers and a tug bar. Under the "hood" is a FenderVintage Bass bridge with 4-string riders which in cooperation with Fender Vintage tuners ensures accurate tonal stability of the four strings. The '57 Custom Precision Bass is protected by a historically correct tweed case with red velvet padding which provides the ultimate vintage feeling even when transporting the Basses.
