Four-string electric bass with MFD pickups and active Tri-Tone system, including case and certificate

With the G&L CLF Research L-2000 Natural, the traditional company from Fullerton, California, presents an authentic new edition of the electric bass introduced by Leo Fender in 1981, which set new standards with its incredible versatility. Accordingly, the four-string has two fat G&L Magnetic Field Design humbuckers and the active Tri-Tone system with 2-band equaliser and extensive sound modes. In terms of construction, a swamp ash body and a maple neck with six screws are also used, while the G&L Saddle Lock Bridge and Ultra Light tuners complete the equipment.

G&L CLF Research L-2000 in classic design

For the construction of the G&L CLF Research L-2000 E-Bass G&L Guitars uses the classic construction method. Accordingly, the 4-string bass has a body made of light swamp ash, while the sixfold bolted neck is made of maple. The comfortable "CLF/ G&L " neck profile and 9.5 inch fretboard radius ensure optimum playability via the 22-flush maple fingerboard.

MFD Humbucker and Tri-Tone System

The electric sound conversion of the G&L CLF Research L-2000 is performed by two G&L Magnetic Field Design Humbuckers. By using powerful ceramic magnets and fat, height-adjustable iron pole pieces, they deliver an extremely powerful yet differentiated sound for expressive bass lines. The eye-catching Control Plate, based on the original from 1981, also features the controls of the particularly versatile, active Tri-Tone system. In addition to the 3-way switch for pickup selection, this provides a series/parallel switch for different sound characteristics and a three-stage pre-amp mode switch. In addition, the active 2-band tone control enables precise intervention in the sound image.

G&L hardware

Last but not least, the G&L CLF Research L-2000 is equipped with the well-known reliable hardware from our own production. The solid G&L Saddle Lock bridge sits accordingly on the body. Its lockable string riders do not guarantee an optimal adjustment of intonation and string position, but also promote sustain and sound development. In addition, lightweight "Ultra G&L Lite" tuners with aluminium winding axles on the head plate ensure precise tuning.
