The Genelec 8351BM studio monitor from the SAM series combines the benefits of a high-resolution 3-way system with a low cut-off frequency, enabling precise and linear reproduction of even the deepest tones. Automatic calibration and control are handled by the GLM software, which uses up to 20 integrated DSP filters to compensate for room acoustics and ensure a balanced, transparent sound image. The optimised coaxial driver, with the midrange and tweeter aligned on the same acoustic axis, produces a pinpoint sound source that is also ideal for close listening distances and demanding monitoring environments . The entire front panel is occupied by a large DCW sound guide, which provides a wide listening zone and radiates sound linearly and without colouration, even when positioned to the side.
Two oval woofers deliver excellent directivity right down to the lower frequencies and perfectly complement the transparent soundstage. The amplifiers for the woofers, midrange drivers and tweeters deliver a combined output of 550 watts using Class D technology, making the 8351BM a powerful and precise tool in the studio. With a sound pressure level of up to 113 dB, this monitor is also suitable for demanding working environments and enables fatigue-free, analytical work. The 8351BM can be used horizontally or vertically and can be flexibly combined with the Genelec 7370 or 7380 subwoofers. The connections include XLR in and out for both analogue and digital signals, as well as twoRJ45 ports for network connectivity.
