3.5-way studio main monitor with DSP filters

With the 8361AW monitor , Genelec offers a reference-class main monitor that stands out thanks to its accurate sound reproduction capabilities. The coaxial system provides an ideal point source with an absolutely linear, colouration-free frequency response for reliable mix evaluation and fatigue-free listening. Three powerful amplifiers supply the monitor with a total of 1,000 watts. The large sound guide ensures a wide listening zone and excellent stereo imaging. Two oval woofers provide optimal directivity right down to the lower frequency ranges. Thanks to the coaxial alignment of the mid-high frequency unit, the loudspeaker can be operated horizontally or vertically without any problems. The die-cast aluminium enclosure is robust and extremely low in resonance. The rounded edges of the enclosure prevent sound colouration. A protection circuit prevents damage in the event of excessively high playback levels.

Customised room calibration

Disturbing room effects can be significantly reduced using DSP filters (DIP switches on the rear panel) or through targeted calibration with the GLM2 measurement microphone and software. The IsoPod base, included in the scope of delivery, decouples the loudspeaker from the surface on which it stands. In addition, the speaker can be tilted and precisely aligned with the listening position.
