The Genelec S360AW was developed for applications where traditional near-field monitors reach their limits. The combination of high sound pressure level, precise imaging and controlled directivity makes the S360AW the ideal solution for professional production environments where decisions must be made with confidence.
A crucial factor for precise monitoring is control over direct sound. This is precisely where Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide technology comes into play . It ensures uniform dispersion and reduces disruptive room effects. The result is a stable stereo image with clear localisation of vocals, instruments and effects.
Even in acoustically challenging rooms, the reproduction remains consistent. The sweet spot appears larger, and mixing decisions can be transferred more reliably to other playback systems.
The 10-inch woofer and the 1-inch compression driver operate with high efficiency and minimal distortion. As a result, the S360AW achieves sound pressure levels of up to 118 dB SPL without compromising on clarity or detail.
Users benefit from this high performance particularly when listening to dynamic music, orchestral productions, electronic genres or film soundtracks. Low frequencies are reproduced in a controlled and precise manner, whilst vocals and transients remain clearly defined even at high levels.
As part of the Genelec Smart Active Monitor family, the S360AW incorporates the proven SAM technology. When used in conjunction with the GLM software, the system can be automatically calibrated to the room’s acoustic conditions.
Levels, delay times and frequency responses are analysed and optimised. This results in a significantly more balanced monitoring environment, regardless of whether the monitor is freestanding, placed close to a wall or used in complex multi-channel setups.
Thanks to analogue XLR inputs, digital AES/EBU connections and GLM network support, the S360AW can be easily integrated into modern production environments. The downward-facing bass reflex ports also allow for flexible placement options.
Additional mounting options for walls, ceilings, stands or trusses significantly expand the range of applications and make the monitor an attractive choice for installations in post-production, broadcast or Dolby Atmos environments .
