The Gibson 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue VOS Double Gold from the Gibson Custom Shop is an authentic recreation of the electric guitar that paved the way for the legendary ’Bursts of the late 1950s. This faithful reissue features a mahogany body with a maple top and a set mahogany neck in the “Chunky C” profile, with all joints glued using traditional hide glue. Two Gibson Custombuckers with Alnico III magnets and a hand-wired circuit using historically accurate paper-in-oil capacitors deliver the classic PAF tones prized in blues and rock. Completing the vintage experience, the guitar includes Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuners and the classic Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece.

As a faithful recreation, the Gibson 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue is built with traditional woods and methods for authentic tone and feel. The one-piece mahogany body is topped with maple, while the glued mahogany neck features a long neck heel and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. The use of glass-hard hide glue on all relevant joints, together with a nitrocellulose finish, ensures optimal resonance and sound development. The non-slip “Chunky C” neck profile provides excellent playability.
Two Gibson Custombucker Alnico III pickups and a hand-wired circuit with paper-in-oil capacitors deliver authentic vintage PAF sounds.

Two Gibson Custombuckers in the neck and bridge positions handle electric sound conversion. With Alnico III magnets and non-waxed coils, these humbuckers are true PAF recreations, offering warm vintage tone with clear bass, a broad midrange, and sparkling highs. Organic dynamics allow expressive playing across clean and overdrive channels. The hand-wired circuit with authentic paper-in-oil capacitors provides precise tonal control and harmonic responsiveness.
Six Kluson vintage-style tuners with historically correct single-ring wings guarantee stable and precise tuning.

The Gibson 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue is completed with historically accurate vintage-style hardware. The ABR-1 No-Wire Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum stopbar tailpiece, designed by Ted McCarty, provide precise intonation and string action. Strings are guided over an authentic nylon saddle to Kluson Single-Ring tuners, ensuring stable and reliable tuning.
