Constructed using traditional methods, the 1958 Les Paul Reissue features a one-piece mahogany body topped with a plain maple top, just like the originals from the late 1950s. The set-in mahogany neck is attached using a long neck tenon and bonded with hide glue, enhancing tonal transfer and long-term stability. Topped with a 12"-radius Indian rosewood fingerboard, the neck’s Chunky C profile and narrow frets provide the unmistakable feel of a true vintage instrument. Every detail, from the carve of the top to the feel of the frets, reflects Gibson's commitment to recreating the “Holy Grail” of electric guitars with historical accuracy and modern playability.
The two Gibson Custombuckers of the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue are managed by the classic 3-way circuit with authentic oil paper capacitors.

To deliver genuine PAF tone, the guitar is fitted with two Gibson Custombucker humbuckers, carefully wound and voiced to replicate the revered Patent Applied For pickups of the late '50s. Built with Alnico III magnets and unwaxed coils, these pickups produce a rich, dynamic tone with velvety lows, singing midrange, and sparkling highs. The electronics are hand-wired using CTS potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors, staying true to the vintage formula. This setup allows for finely tuned tonal control, whether you’re chasing clean blues tones, warm jazz lines, or gritty overdriven rock.
