From the turned wood selection to the hand-wired electronics to the texture of Finish and Hardware, the Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Royal Tea Burst Light Aged truly offers everything a classic '59 Les Paul should.
Prickly maple top and mahogany neck with long neck base.
The basis of the Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Royal Tea Burst Light Aged is its basic construction of selected tonewoods, as they were used in the late fifties. Accordingly, the body is made of a solid piece of mahogany and finished with a two-piece curly maple top with a fancy flame. Of course, in the recipe of a good Fifties Les Paul may not be missing the long neck tenon of the mahogany neck glued up to under the neck pickup.

Two Gibson Custom Bucker with Alnico III magnets are responsible for the unique PAF sound.
Gibson Custom Bucker with Paper-in-Oil Caps
For appropriate sounds of the legendary PAF humbucker, Gibson relies on two Custom Bucker humbuckers, successful replicas of the coveted double coils. The hand Gibson Custom Shop hand-wound pickups are equipped with Alnico III magnets for a warm and vocal sound character and feature non-waxed coils, which clearly preserve the treble content in the signal. The electronics wiring is also completely hand-wired and holds the original components of the golden LP era with CTS potentiometers for Volume and Tone and paper-in-oil capacitors.
Detailed playing marks on typical areas of the body skillfully depict the tasteful Murphy Lab Light-Aged treatment.
Murphy Lab Light Aged Treatment
The Murphy Lab, founded by ageing legend Tom Murphy, consists of a number of experts who analyze in detail the varnish texture and ageing process of Hardware original instruments and recreate them authentically as part of the 1959 Les Paul Standard Royal Tea Burst Light Aged. The Light Aged Treatment here represents a slight ageing process and simulates the natural signs of wear and tear of a long-played but well-cared-for instrument. The composition of the nitro lacquer was also taken into account so that the instrument develops a tasteful ageing over time.
