Traditional construction
Under the TV Yellow nitrocellulose finish, originally chosen to ensure good visibility on early black and white television broadcasts, the 1960 Les Paul Special Reissue reveals a classic construction. A solid mahogany body and a mahogany neck joined with a long neck heel provide the foundation for a powerful and dynamically responsive sound. Wide cutaways that almost fully expose the neck and the slim nineteen sixties Slim Taper profile offer excellent playing comfort on the twenty two fret rosewood fingerboard.
Single-coil P-90 pickups and hand-wired electrics with oil-paper capacitors promise authentic vintage sounds between blues and rock.

For the conversion of string vibration into electric tone, the 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue uses two P ninety single coil pickups. These single coils are wound according to historical specifications in the Custom Shop and deliver authentic vintage tones with a rich midrange and lively dynamics, perfectly suited to traditional blues and rock styles. Gibson employs a hand wired circuit with Switchcraft pickup selector, separate volume and tone controls for each pickup and authentic paper in oil capacitors for smooth and musical treble rolloff, allowing precise shaping of the guitar sound.
Kluson strip tuners with white buttons keep the Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue securely in tune.
Historically correct hardware
Historically correct hardware completes the 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue VOS TV Yellow from Gibson.
