The Gibson 1964 SG Standard Maestro Vibrola Pelham Blue Light Aged number 303304 is an impressive recreation of the vintage SG that marked the end of the Les Paul SG era and introduced several welcome improvements. This doublecut model, favored by players such as Eric Clapton and George Harrison, features the newly introduced Maestro Vibrola that replaced the earlier Sideways version, along with powerful, vocal sounding pickups and a more substantial neck profile that recalls the celebrated feel of 1959. The guitar comes from the Gibson Custom Shop with an elaborate Murphy Lab aging treatment and is delivered with a matching hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity.

Long Neck Tenon & Hide Glue
This replica of the Gibson 1964 SG Standard Maestro Vibrola Pelham Blue Light Aged follows the historically correct construction of the original sixty four SG. The instrument is built from a one piece body made of solid yet lightweight mahogany and a mahogany neck. The neck features the traditional long neck heel, also known as the long neck tenon, and is attached to the body with glass hard hide glue to enhance resonance. The more substantial Authentic sixty four Medium C neck profile delivers the classic playing feel associated with Gibson solidbody instruments from the late fifties.
Custom bucker with Alnico III magnets and hand-wired electrics with high-quality components deliver authentic vintage sounds.
Custombucker with hand-wired electrics
The two Custombucker humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions are true Gibson Custom Shop classics. Wound according to the traditional PAF recipe, these pickups offer remarkable tonal character and provide an ideal foundation for a wide range of sounds. The entire wiring of the Gibson 1964 SG Standard Maestro Vibrola Light Aged is hand wired and uses high quality components including CTS potentiometers, a Switchcraft output jack and genuine Black Beauty capacitors that deliver authentic treble response when adjusting the tone controls.
The Kluson tuners in the historically correct "Single Line/Double Ring" design of the sixties also undergo the Murphy Lab treatment.
Finish & Hardware with Light Aging Treatment
Both the hardware and the finish of the Gibson 1964 SG Standard Maestro Vibrola Pelham Blue Light Aged receive a Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment developed by aging specialist Tom Murphy and his team. Authentic signs of gentle wear appear on the Maestro Vibrola, the ABR One bridge, the classic Kluson tuners and the humbucker covers, while the elegant Pelham Blue nitrocellulose finish shows the subtle traces expected of a lovingly maintained original.
