The result of years of research and development, the Gibson Custombucker represents the gold standard of the Gibson Custom Shop and is regarded as a historically accurate recreation of the legendary 'Patent Applied For' humbucker found in the iconic instruments of the late 1950s. Known for its warm and rounded tone, the Custombucker uses Alnico III magnets and follows period-correct production methods. Each pickup features two coils wound with 42 AWG wire, left unwaxed, and with slightly different winding counts – giving every Custombucker its own unique character.
