The Gibson Dave Mustaine Songwriter Handsigned at a glance
With a special edition of its popular Gibson Songwriter model, the traditional manufacturer from Bozeman in Montana dedicates its own custom signature edition to trash metal icon Dave Mustaine. This one is perfectly adapted to the demands of the Megadeth frontman with its numerous modifications and visual conspicuities. Thus, the instrument comes with 24 frets on a rather short 629 mm scale length. Furthermore, the acoustic guitar features artwork of the band's mascot Vic Rattlehead, which will make the hearts of every Megadeth fan beat faster. In addition to the large-scale Pickguard and the specially designed headstock, the fretboard is decorated with tooth-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays. With the help of the built-in pickup system from L.R. Baggs, the acoustic sound of the guitar can also be amplified to the best. The highlight is undoubtedly the hand-signed soundhole label, which makes the Gibson Dave Mustaine Songwriter a very special collector's item. The scope of delivery includes a custom hardshell case and a certificate.

Structure and woods
In order for the fully-massive Songwriter to produce a fat sound, the top is made of Sitka spruce. The fine-grained tonewood provides assertive midrange and treble frequencies, allowing the instrument to excel in solos. Walnut back and sides complement the sound with warm and rich bass frequencies. The flat mahogany neck, with the help of the Advanced Response Profile, offers extremely comfortable playability in all frets, which can be accessed optimally thanks to the generous cutaway.

Hardware
The compensated bridge inlay and the 44 mm wide nut made of GraphTech TUSQ ensure perfect intonation on the full range, while the Grover Rotomatic tuners allow clean tuning of the 6 steel strings. The L.R. Baggs VTCpickup system features a regulator that is elegantly hidden in the sound hole. The Preamp is equipped with a volume and a tone control, so it is possible to individually adjust the output signal to the respective amplifier.

Design
Because of the extended fingerboard and therefore slightly offset soundhole, the Gibson Dave Mustaine Songwriter gets a unique and at the same time eye-catching appearance. This is perfectly rounded off by the images in the form of an inlay on the headstock and an elaborately designed pickguard. The fretboard features large teeth inlays made of mother of pearl, which contrast the dark wood. In addition, the headstock is equipped with an engraved trussrod cover bearing the name of the Megadeth frontman.
