In the 1960s, the Firebird was the most radical instrument in the Rock and Blues scene. The design concept of the Firebird originated in the visionary head of Ray Dietrich, who also conceptualized classic automobiles for Lincoln and Packard.
His unconventional designs were based on the legendary tail fins of '50s automobiles, combined with a taste of explorer, which was introduced 5 years prior.
Today the Firebird still comes with the features that made it popular in the rock world in first place, such as the thru-neck, the ceramic mini humbuckers and the characteristic reverse headstock.
