In 1942 the Gibson J-45 was introduced for the first time and achieved world fame within a very short time. Well-known guitarists became aware of the excellent tone and made the J-45 a legend. Famous users of the J-45 include Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie and even John Lennon composed and performed with the J-45. The sought-after and beloved legendary acoustic sound of the J-45 Vintage is accomplished using a special cellular aging process.

The aged, solid Adirondack spruce top in combination with solid mahogany sides and back ensure a particularly warm and powerful bass and powerful midrange. The Adirondack spruce grows only in the northwest of New York and is known and loved for its warm sound. The original White Button Relic Style Gotoh tuners are also experiencing a renaissance in this instrument, ensuring precise tuning and stability.
