The Gibson Les Paul Music City Special 50th Anniversary Ebony at a glance
With the Gibson Les Paul Music City Special 50th Anniversary Ebony, the legendary U.S. manufacturer celebrates the 50th anniversary of its Nashville facility with a striking fusion of two iconic Gibson designs. Limited to 650 pieces per color worldwide, this special-edition model pays homage to the 1975 Gibson Marauder, one of the first guitars produced in Nashville, and blends its distinct character with the DNA of the Les Paul Music City Junior. The result is a unique instrument that combines nimble playability, timeless looks, and authentic Gibson tone making it a true collector’s piece that embodies five decades of Nashville excellence. Includes a Gibson Soft Shell Case.
Contoured Marauder body made from poplar
The Les Paul Music City Special 50th Anniversary Ebony features a lightweight poplar body in the distinctive Marauder-inspired singlecut design, offering a fresh take on the classic Les Paul silhouette. Instead of a carved maple top, this model sports a flat top with a beveled forearm contour, providing exceptional comfort during long playing sessions. The Slim Taper maple neck, set into the body with Gibson’s signature glued-in joint, delivers the familiar smooth Gibson feel, while the 22-fret ebony fingerboard adds a touch of elegance and tonal definition.
Gibson '70s Tribute Humbucker
Sonically, the Les Paul Music City Special captures the raw, vibrant energy of the 1970s. It’s equipped with two Gibson ’70s Tribute humbuckers, designed according to vintage specifications and built using classic construction methods. These pickups deliver bold mids, rounded highs, and tight lows, perfectly suited for everything from blues and classic rock to modern high-gain tones. The simple control layout featuring Master Volume, Master Tone, and a 3-way toggle switch ensures intuitive operation and quick tonal changes. Rounding out the build are high-quality hardware appointments, including a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece and Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners, guaranteeing rock-solid stability and sustain.
