With the Gibson Les Paul Music City Special 50th Anniversary Wine Red, traditional manufacturer Gibson is celebrating the 50th birthday of the GibsonNashville facility with a successful combination of two iconic Gibson models. The electric guitar, in a limited edition of 650 pieces per color worldwide, is inspired by classic design features of the Gibson Marauder, as it was manufactured in 1975 as one of the first Gibson models in Nashville and combines the model with the strong character DNA of the Les Paul Music City Junior. The result is a truly unique instrument with extremely nimble handling and first-class sounds that make the Les Paul City Special a true Gibson USA electric guitar. including GibsonSoft Shell Case!
Contoured Marauder body made from poplar
As a special haptic feature, the Gibson Les Paul Music City Special 50th Anniversary Wine Red has a lightweight poplar body in the unique Marauder design, which basically follows the classic singlecut shape of the famous Les Paul. However, the Les Paul Music City Special dispenses with a scalloped top and instead offers a flat top with a beveled forearm contour for maximum playing comfort. On the other hand, the slim taper neck made of maple, which features a classic glue joint and a 22-fret ebony fingerboard, provides an unmistakable Gibson feel.
Gibson '70s Tribute Humbucker
It goes without saying that the Gibson Les Paul Music City Special 50th Anniversary Wine Red is not only visually but also sonically very much in the spirit of the wild seventies. For the Limited Edition model, Gibson USA relies on two Gibson '70s Tribute humbuckers, which are based on the original Gibson pickups of the era and use classic manufacturing techniques. The two pickups are controlled via a straightforward wiring with master volume, Master Tone and 3-way toggle switch. The Les Paul Music City Special is completed by a Nashville Tune-o-Matic with stopbar and six Grover Mini Rotomatics on the headstock.
