For the construction of the Les Paul Special Double Cut Figured, the Gibson Custom Shop relies on the proven manufacturing methods of the Fifties to achieve a lively sound with a clear vintage character. The mahogany body, with two Cutaways, carries a two-piece flamed maple top with a fine grain, while the mahogany neck is glued to the sustain-promoting long neck foot, known to burst enthusiasts as the Long Neck Tenon. The slim "'60s SlimTaper" neck profile also promises butter-soft playing characteristics right up to the highest positions of the 22-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard.
