With the Gibson Les Paul Standard '60s Plain Ebony Top, Gibson USA presents an electric guitar from the Original Collection that authentically captures the spirit and sound of the groundbreaking singlecut models from the early 1960s. Featuring a mahogany body paired with the classic maple top, this model also boasts a Slim Taper mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard that offers a comfortable feel. On the amplifier, Gibson '60s Burstbucker pickups deliver unmistakable vintage tones with authentic PAF character. The hand-wired circuit with Orange Drop capacitors allows fine-tuned tonal shaping. Additionally, the Les Paul Standard '60s Ebony Top features Grover Rotomatic tuners and the tried-and-tested combination of ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum stopbar.
Authentic '60s style in look and sound: The Gibson Les Paul Standard '60s Plain Ebony comes with a slim taper mahogany neck, curly maple top and Burstbucker 61 Alnico V humbuckers.
In addition to the mahogany body without weight relief, the Les Paul Standard '60s has a glued neck with a "slim taper" profile.

True to its heritage, the construction of the Les Paul Standard '60s Ebony Top follows traditional specifications to retain the powerful and unfiltered tonal character. Gibson forgoes weight relief in the solid mahogany body, while the maple top enhances the guitar's elegant appearance. The glued-in mahogany neck with a comfortable 1960s-style Slim Taper profile ensures smooth playability all the way up to the 22nd fret on the rosewood fingerboard.

'60s burstbucker pickups and hand-wired circuitry
For electronics, Gibson equips the Les Paul Standard '60s with two '60s Burstbucker pickups. These deliver genuine PAF-style tone with articulate mids and airy dynamics, offering sparkling cleans and saturated overdrive tones with expressive sustain. To give players full tonal control, Gibson includes the traditional hand-wired three-way toggle switch and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, complete with high-quality Orange Drop capacitors for smooth and musical treble roll-off.
The "Open Book" headstock of the Les Paul Standard '60s carries Grover Rotomatics for stable and precise tuning.
Traditional Vintage-Style hardware
Rounding out the build, Gibson equips the Les Paul Standard '60s Plain Ebony Top with time-tested hardware that meets the demands of professionals in studio and live settings. The strings run from a lightweight aluminum stopbar through the iconic ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, a design originally created by Gibson president Ted McCarty for precise intonation and adjustable string action. At the headstock, the recognizable “open book” shape houses a GraphTech nut and six Grover Rotomatic tuners that offer reliable tuning stability and classic vintage aesthetics.

I have purchased Gibson before and was never impressed with the quality, however having restructured the company and going back to what they do best, the build quality is flawless! Not to mention the sound and play-ability, it's awesome!
