Doublecut Mahogany Body & 1960 Slim Taper Neck

The classic SG recipe begins with a slim, solid mahogany body that is securely glued to a matching solid mahogany neck, contributing to the inimitable resonance and tone of this model. As per the original sixties specifications, the guitar features the 1960 Slim Taper neck profile, which ensures comfortable chord play and fast access to the highest positions on the 22-fret ebony fingerboard.

Gibson 490R & 498T Humbucker

To capture the classic SG sound through your amplifier, the Gibson Custom Shop has equipped the SG Custom 2-Pickup Ebony with a 490R humbucker in the neck position and a 498T Treble humbucker in the bridge position.
