Gibson's High Performance models from the 2016 line-up offer the futuristic benefits of the 2014 and 2015 models. Accordingly, the instruments have a wide fingerboard with a saddle width of approx. 44mm, zero fret groove and the proven G-Force tuning System , which makes quick tuning or retuning child's play.

Equipped with two hot 490R and 498T humbuckers, the SG lives up to its reputation as a real rockboard. Present mid-range, tight bass and clear treble provide an assertive sound image in the Distortion channel that reproduces burning riffs and singing solos with high assertiveness. However, the pickups cannot deny their relationship to the legendary PAFs and convince Amp with their transparent reproduction of chords and melodies.

The slim neck Rounded offers the well-known high playing comfort and with its "Fast Access Heel" facilitates access to the high registers of the Palisander fingerboard.
