Top-class rock and blues guitar with classic sound and comfortable handling.
Maintaining the iconic design with its distinctive double horns, the Gibson SG Standard Ebony Lefthand stands out as a first-rate blues and rock guitar, offering smooth playability and premium tone. The proven set-neck construction, with a mahogany neck and body, provides a powerful sound foundation, while the moderately rounded neck profile ensures comfortable playing across the rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with a pair of popular Gibson 490 humbuckers, the SG Standard delivers rich tones with a broad midrange and just the right amount of bite—perfectly suited for blues and rock. Rounding out the package are Grover Rotomatic tuners and the classic Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece.
The Gibson SG Ebony Lefthand is a classically styled blues and rock guitar for left-handers with top-notch playing and sound characteristics.
The glued mahogany neck in the "Rounded" profile can be played up to the highest registers without any problems.
SG in proven construction
Following classic specs, the SG Standard promises the ideal blend of powerful tone and easy handling. Its comfortable mahogany body rests naturally against the player, while the characteristic double cutaways provide unhindered access to the upper registers of the glued mahogany neck. The moderately rounded neck profile, with a 43 mm nut width, feels comfortable in the hand, making it easy to execute the classic playing techniques of blues and rock.
Alnico II humbuckers in the form of a Gibson 490R and a Gibson 490T deliver premium blues and rock tones.
Gibson 490R and 490T Humbucker
Equipped with a Gibson 490R in the neck and a 490T in the bridge, these modern classics offer a slightly updated take on the vintage PAF design. The Alnico II pickups provide a warm, full midrange sound with lively dynamics making it ideal for both soulful cleans and punchy overdrive riffs. The higher output of the bridge pickup helps produce rich distortion through your amp. Alongside the 3-way pickup selector, separate volume and tone controls allow fine-tuning of your sound.
Classic Grover Rotomatics keep the SG Standard safely and precisely in tune.
Tradition-conscious hardware equipment
Finally, Gibson equips the SG Standard Ebony with reliable, classic hardware. The aluminum stopbar tailpiece anchors the strings securely, guiding them to the Nashville-style aluminum Tune-O-Matic bridge, which offers precise intonation and comfortable action. Behind the Graph Tech nut, Grover Rotomatic tuners provide stable, accurate tuning you can trust.

I've been saving money as hard as possible so that I could afford a Gibson SG. I checked several musical instrument store on the web and Music Store was the only one to have it in stock and ready to deliver :)
I am very excited by the noise this guitar makes, I also bought a Marshall DSL40CR to play it through. Sounds both clean and very very dirty.
I am a happy guitarist!

This is a very good looking guitar with a really fat sound. The tuning is good the neck easy to play and the frets feel good under the strings. For the last 30 years I played guitars with locking system tremolo bar and at first it felt different playing the SG. After a while it does feel amazing: It is a powerful guitar with a very raw sound and very easy to play, up to the last fret. One more thing:the SG is very lightweight . Overall this is a guitar that should be made default for any serious guitar player.
