With the Gibson Tony Iommi SG Special Vintage Cherry Lefthand Gibson sends a loving left-handed reissue of the heavily modified 1964 SG electric guitar that the string wizard from Birmingham used to forge the first Black Sabbath riffs. Based on the classic Double cut design, the left-handed electric guitar comes with two P-90 pickups for juicy Overdrive sounds, while authentic Vintage-Style Hardware completes the Tony Iommi Signature guitar's features. The printed signature of Iommi on the back of the headstock and the included Monkey sticker, which the Black Sabbath riff master placed behind the bridge of his SG, make the Tony Iommi SG Special Lefthand from Gibson a real collector's item not only for metal fans.

Traditionally built SG

When building the Tony Iommi SG Special for left-handers, the Gibson Luthiers naturally follow the traditional specifications of the popular double cut model, and reproduce the authentic playing feel and the powerful sound character as detailed as possible. Besides the obligatory double-horned mahogany body, the electric guitar features a glued, freestanding mahogany neck in a not-too-boomy "rounded" profile, which can be easily played up to the highest positions of the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The ultra-thin nitro finish also promises unlimited resonance joy of the Iommi Signature SG.

Just like on the well-known 64 original of the Black Sabbath guitarist, also on the Gibson Tony Iommi SG Special Lefthand two Gibson P-90 pickups take over the electrical sound transformation of the guitar. Due to the surprisingly high Output the chrome-capped single coil pickups elicit extremely juicy overdrive sounds from the guitar amplifier, whose fat midrange spectrum perfectly accentuates gritty riffs and drop tunings. The hand-wired 3-way circuit with separate volume and tone pickups also relies on high-caliber Orange Drop capacitors to precisely adjust the tone with smooth Treble roll-offs.
